For several months, Donald Trump has been pressuring Joe Biden to engage in a debate, and this week, Biden appeared to accept the offer.
Social media users saw a pre-recorded, scripted video with Biden declaring, without providing any supporting proof, that “Donald Trump lost two debates against me in 2020.”
“He hasn’t appeared for a debate since then.” Biden said, “Now he is behaving like he wants to debate me again.”
Then, Biden pushed Trump to choose the dates.
Make my day, buddy, and I will even do it again. Donald, let us choose the dates. I hear Wednesdays are free.
Biden did not mention in his video statement that his aides had previously recommended dates—or at least months. June and September:
“In defiance of the Commission on Presidential Debates, President Biden’s campaign on Wednesday suggested holding two debates with former President Trump, thus paving the way for a confrontation as early as next month. The Biden team suggested that the first debate happen in late June, following Biden’s return from the Group of Seven (G-7) Summit in Europe and probably after Trump’s New York hush money trial had finished.”
“The campaign recommended a vice presidential debate in late July following the Republican National Convention and another debate in September, ahead of the commencement of early voting in several states.”
In response to the challenge, Donald Trump has already made fun of Joe Biden while accepting it:
Trump said to Fox News Digital, “Crooked Joe Biden is the most terrible debater I have ever faced—he cannot put two sentences together.” “Crooked is, without a doubt, the worst president in American history.”
“Let there be a debate, please,” Trump stated to Fox News Digital, “even if it means going through the offices of the Commission on Presidential Debates, which are completely dominated by Democrats and, as people recall, were discovered tampering with my debate sound levels.”
Donald Trump lost two debates to me in 2020. Since then, he hasn’t shown up for a debate.
Now he’s acting like he wants to debate me again.
Well, make my day, pal. pic.twitter.com/AkPmvs2q4u

Trump declared, “I am ready to go.” “The times they suggested worked well.” Anywhere is acceptable. At any moment. Any location. Joe might be able to reach the stand-up podium, let us see.
In a post on Truth Social, Trump expounded:
It will be fascinating to observe how Biden’s advisors handle the intricacies of the stage arrangement, time constraints, debate moderator, and host, among other aspects. Trump, though, would probably be alright if they got into a street fight.
We will keep you informed of any further developments, as usual. Pay attention.
