Eight Americans injured in a terrorist attack in Boulder, Colorado—another grim reminder of the devastating consequences of Joe Biden’s catastrophic immigration policies. As our nation reels from yet another senseless attack, we must confront the truth: the Biden administration’s reckless open-borders agenda not only undermined our sovereignty, but endangered the lives of innocent Americans.
The Boulder attack suspect, Mohamed Sabry Soliman, was no stranger to our overwhelmed immigration system. He entered the U.S. legally on a nonimmigrant visa during Biden’s tenure, overstayed, and was eventually granted work authorization, which expired this past March. Despite numerous warnings by the intelligence community and lawmakers, the Biden administration willfully ignored the growing terror threat posed by unchecked immigration.
Former FBI Director Christopher Wray had explicitly warned Congress about the danger posed by terrorists exploiting our unsecured southern border. “I have warned for some time now about the threat that foreign terrorists may seek to exploit our southwest border or some other port of entry to advance a plot against Americans,” Wray testified to the House Judiciary Committee in April 2024. His warnings fell on deaf ears within the Biden administration, whose priority was appeasing radical activists rather than protecting American citizens.
House Permanent Select Committee on Intelligence Chair Mike Turner (R-Ohio) and House Homeland Security Committee Chair Mark Green (R-Tenn.) also sounded the alarm back in August 2024, condemning the Biden administration’s border chaos. They stated unequivocally, “Since the Biden-Harris Administration’s failed open border policies have welcomed potential terrorists into our nation, we’re working to combat these threats and safeguard Americans in their own backyards.”
What happened in Boulder was not some unforeseen tragedy, nor was it an isolated incident. It was the inevitable result of a deliberate policy decision—one that prioritized ideology over safety, virtue-signaling over vigilance. The FBI, forced to devote hundreds of employees to tracking down potentially deadly threats among the flood of illegals, repeatedly warned that fake documents and chaotic border conditions would make it nearly impossible to identify every potential terrorist. As Wray put it bluntly last year, “perhaps even more concerning are those we do not yet know about because they provided fake documents or because we didn’t have information connecting them to terrorism at the time they arrived in the United States.”
Predictably, Democrats have tried to deflect blame, insisting that the real threats come from American citizens and domestic terrorism. Rep. Lou Correa (D-Calif.) even cited a dated study claiming that no foreign-born terrorists had murdered Americans between 1975 and 2022. How comforting that must be to the families of those injured in Boulder, attacked by a foreign national who overstayed his visa under Biden’s watch.
The Trump administration’s swift return to power has been a godsend for those who value security, sovereignty, and American lives, but the lingering consequences of the Biden era remain. White House Deputy Chief of Staff Stephen Miller didn’t mince words in his reaction to the attack: “A terror attack was committed in Boulder, Colorado by an illegal alien… Suicidal migration must be fully reversed.”
Enough is enough. Our borders are not mere lines on a map—they are the frontline defense against deadly threats. President Trump has taken decisive action to reverse Biden’s reckless open-border policies, but the damage left behind by the previous administration’s negligence continues to haunt us.
Congressman Mark Green has called this attack a “wake-up call” to the persistent dangers America still faces. He has demanded an immediate briefing from the Department of Homeland Security to ensure that tragedies like Boulder never happen again.
America First means putting the safety, security, and sovereignty of our nation above ideological fantasies. The time for empty promises and political games is over. We must restore order at our borders, empower law enforcement, and ensure that no American family again suffers because politicians were too cowardly to defend our homeland.
