Kathy Barnette, a former Republican candidate for the Senate in Pennsylvania, bashed black Americans on a podcast for voting for the Democratic Party for decades even though they have been fed “rubbish.”

With the help of black votes, the Democratic Party has been able to win elections since the Civil Rights Movement. Barnette questioned black voters’ commitment to the party on “The Sage Steele Show.” The show’s host, Sage Steele, asked them why they were still committed to a plan that didn’t fit with their normal beliefs.

“There needs to be someone ready to tell us the hard truth. For 60 years, black people have been more loyal to the Democratic Party than anyone else. We vote Democratic 95% of the time, which no one else does, right?” Barnett said.

Barnette kept talking about how former First Lady Michelle Obama told people to “just vote Democrat.” She said this was different from her time on Wall Street, where she was never told to vote based on party alone.

“I’ve been the only black person in many of these rooms,” Barnette said. “I’ve worked on Wall Street, in Corporate America, and in all these other places. I remember officials trying to get these people to vote for them, especially on Wall Street, and I never heard them say, ‘Shut up and do what I say.’ I don’t care what we said before. It doesn’t matter what we did before. Just go out here and follow that line.”

Instead, Barnette said, “They come with ideas and plans for growth and all of this. This includes politicians when they go to Wall Street or some of these companies. They come with gifts and plans. These are our ideas for how to make things better for you and the black community as a whole. I think we teach people how to treat us.”

“We have faithfuls. I call them drivers because that’s what slaves called them. This white person was in charge, and below them were these black drivers. Their job, like the white person’s, was to keep the black people in the field towing that line,” Barnett said.

“You listen and follow instructions, right? More often than not, they were even worse than the white overseers. Even now, people like Michelle Obama would tell black people to “shut up, sit down, and be quiet.” Trust that line, no matter what you heard or what someone said or didn’t say. Because they helped you, you should go vote Democratic.”
