Blue-State Republicans Furious Over Perverted Legislature Stunt–They Staged A Massive Walk Out!

Republican lawmakers from the state of California left a ceremony honoring “Sister Roma” of the anti-Catholic organization Sisters of Perpetual Indulgence, which is embroiled in a dispute with the Los Angeles Dodgers.

Roma, a guy who portrays a Catholic nun in drag, is really Michael Williams. As part of a performance repertoire that supports different sexual identities, the ensemble makes fun of Catholic doctrine.

According to Breitbart News, the Dodgers welcomed Sisters of Perpetual Indulgence to the team’s yearly LGBTQ+ Pride night on June 16, then disinvited them after receiving complaints from Catholic organizations and then invited them back after receiving complaints from homosexual activists. The team’s carefully groomed and expanding Latino fan base includes many Catholic devotees since Los Angeles is a predominantly Catholic city.

Republicans protested the Democrat-controlled legislature’s choice to promote an anti-Catholic organization during Pride month rather than merely honoring gay people and leaders. According to The Sacramento Bee:

“Republican lawmakers in the Assembly left their positions and went to the lounge at the back of the room as Roma walked to the front to accept her prize. The remaining participants yelled, whooped, and applauded while giving Roma a lengthy standing ovation.”

“The only Republican to address the Assembly’s resolution, H.R. 33, was Assemblyman Devon Mathis from Porterville.” In reference to the debate about Roma, “Mathis made a short mention of religious freedom and the necessity for “mutual” tolerance, which has not always been shown.”

“Hatred and prejudice aren’t acceptable, so if we genuinely want religious freedom, ultimately respect has to be mutual,” stated Mathis. “Unfortunately, that hasn’t always been the case, and quite honestly, from all sides.”

Protesters from the Catholic and evangelical communities gathered on the Capitol steps to voice their opposition to the legislature’s choice to recognize Sister Roma and the organization. They conducted a nonviolent demonstration that included a prayer vigil.

State Senator Scott Wiener (D-San Francisco), is also responsible for a lot of the state’s most contentious sexual laws, such as recent laws designating California to serve as a “sanctuary” for transgender kids wanting drugs and surgical procedures, and a law legalizing loitering for prostitution that has reportedly resulted in an increase in child prostitution on streets throughout the state, nominated Sister Roma for the honor.
