Former Vice President Kamala Harris is once again blaming others for the failures of her own side. This time, she is pointing fingers at President Donald Trump, claiming that he was behind the brief suspension of late-night talk show host Jimmy Kimmel. Her words, spoken at the Congressional Black Caucus Foundation’s Phoenix Awards Gala, show just how far the left will go to twist the truth and stir up division.
Harris did not mention President Trump by name, but everyone knew who she meant. She accused “the president” of having a “fragile ego” and using the federal government to silence those who speak out against him. She claimed that Kimmel was taken off the air because the president couldn’t take a joke.
Let’s pause right there. Jimmy Kimmel didn’t tell a harmless joke. He made deeply offensive comments about the murder of Charlie Kirk, a respected conservative voice. Rather than mourning the loss of life or calling for peace, Kimmel used his platform to push a political agenda. He tried to pin the blame on the so-called “MAGA gang,” even though authorities confirmed the suspect had leftist leanings. That is not comedy. That is slander.
In response to Kimmel’s comments, major broadcasting companies like Nexstar Media Group and Sinclair Broadcast Group decided to pull the show from their ABC stations. They said the comments were “ill-timed” and “insensitive.” Disney followed suit and suspended the show temporarily. These were business decisions made by private companies that understood the seriousness of the situation. But instead of accepting that truth, Harris and her allies want to paint it as censorship from the White House.
This is a classic tactic from the left. When their words or actions have consequences, they cry foul. They try to shift the blame onto conservatives, calling it oppression or tyranny. But the American people are not so easily fooled. They know the difference between holding someone accountable and silencing free speech.
Harris’s comments are also deeply disrespectful to the memory of Charlie Kirk. A young man was killed, and instead of focusing on justice or unity, Harris and Kimmel used his death to attack those who support traditional American values. That kind of behavior is not leadership—it is reckless and dangerous.
And make no mistake, this is part of a larger pattern. The left continues to push a false narrative that conservatives are somehow enemies of democracy. They ignore the violence and threats that come from their own side, while exaggerating anything that comes from the right. They want to control the message, the media, and even the minds of our children.
But the American people are waking up. Under President Trump’s leadership, we are seeing a return to common sense and accountability. No one is above the truth—not even celebrities like Jimmy Kimmel. And certainly not politicians like Kamala Harris.
Harris also used her speech to warn about the 2026 midterm elections. She called the president “unchecked, incompetent, unhinged.” These are strong words from someone who failed to connect with voters during her own run for president. Her party lost the White House in 2024, and now they are scrambling to stay relevant by attacking the man who beat them.
We must not let their falsehoods go unchallenged. We must continue to stand for truth, for justice, and for the values that built this great nation. That means protecting our right to speak freely, but also holding people accountable when they cross the line.
Jimmy Kimmel was not silenced for telling a joke. He was taken off the air because he used a national platform to spread lies about a tragic event. That is not comedy. That is propaganda.
It is time for the left to take responsibility for their words and actions. And it is time for the rest of us to keep standing strong—for our faith, for our families, and for our country.
