There was a time in America when leaders believed in putting the country first. When duty and loyalty meant more than ambition and pride. But today, as the pages of Kamala Harris’s new book reveal, the modern Democratic Party has wandered far from that path.
In her upcoming memoir titled *107 Days*, Harris shares a troubling story about the man who once held the highest office in the land: Joe Biden. As Harris prepared to face Donald Trump in the only debate of her short-lived campaign, she received a call from Biden. One might expect a message of encouragement or support. Instead, she got something else entirely — a reminder of the self-centeredness and confusion that marked Biden’s time in office.
According to Harris, Biden’s call wasn’t to boost her confidence or help her focus. No, it was to talk about himself, his brother, and so-called “power brokers” in Philadelphia. He questioned her loyalty and hinted that some people weren’t going to support her because she “had been saying bad things” about him. At a moment when she needed clarity and strength, Biden gave her anxiety and distraction.
This is not how a leader acts. This is not how a mentor behaves. And it is certainly not how a president should treat someone stepping forward to carry his party’s banner. Harris wrote that she felt “angry and disappointed.” Rightfully so. What Biden did was not leadership. It was selfishness.
Even more disturbing is how Harris now describes the decisions leading up to the 2024 election. She admits that the phrase “It’s Joe and Jill’s decision” was repeated like a chant among Democrats — as if the fate of our nation was just a personal choice for one man and his wife. In her own words, Harris now sees that as “recklessness.” She’s right.
The presidency isn’t a family heirloom to be passed around. It’s not a hobby or a bucket list item. It’s a sacred trust. But under Biden, that trust was broken. He and his circle clung to power, ignoring the warning signs, ignoring the concerns of their own party, and ignoring the needs of the American people. Even Harris, his chosen successor, now admits it was driven by ego and ambition, not wisdom or grace.
In another part of her book, Harris reveals that she wanted Pete Buttigieg, not Tim Walz, to be her running mate. But she decided it was “too big of a risk.” Why? Because her campaign was already asking Americans to accept so much — a woman, a Black woman, and a Black woman married to a Jewish man. That alone shows how deeply identity politics has poisoned the Democratic Party. Instead of choosing the best person for the job, decisions were made based on how much the public could “handle.” Merit and strength of character were pushed aside in favor of carefully calculated optics.
This should trouble every American who believes in fairness, honesty, and unity. Our country was built by people who rose by their abilities, not their labels. But today’s left wants to divide us by race, gender, and background, and then use those divisions to gain power.
Kamala Harris may think she is being brave by speaking out now. But where was this honesty when it mattered? Where was this courage when Joe Biden was still in power, leading our country down a dangerous road? She stayed silent then — just like so many others in her party — because they were more afraid of losing power than losing the truth.
Thank God the American people saw through it. In 2024, they made their voices heard and brought back a leader who puts America first — President Donald J. Trump. Now, in 2025, we are rebuilding what was broken. We are returning to values that work: faith, family, and freedom.
But let this book be a warning. The left is still divided, still chasing identity over integrity, and still putting ambition ahead of America. We must stay vigilant, and we must never forget what happens when pride takes the place of principle.
