President-elect Donald Trump is proving once again that promises made are promises kept. This time, it’s thanks to Texas Land Commissioner Dawn Buckingham, who just offered up a massive 1,402-acre ranch in Starr County, right along the U.S.-Mexico border, for the construction of deportation facilities. That’s right—while Democrats wring their hands over open borders, real leaders like Trump and Buckingham are taking action to restore law and order.
Buckingham’s bold move comes as Trump gears up to deliver on his pledge for “the largest deportation of violent criminals in the nation’s history.” During the campaign, Trump didn’t mince words, declaring, “The border will be sealed. The invasion will be stopped.” Now, with a national emergency declaration on the horizon and military assistance in the works, Buckingham’s ranch is about to play a critical role in making it happen.
The land, conveniently located near the Rio Grande River and several airports, is perfect for a detention and deportation hub. In her letter to Trump, Buckingham outlined her commitment to the cause, saying, “My office is fully prepared to enter into an agreement… to allow a facility to be built for the processing, detention, and coordination of the largest deportation of violent criminals in the nation’s history.”
This isn’t Buckingham’s first rodeo. She previously facilitated the construction of a 1.45-mile stretch of the Texas Border Wall, undoing the obstructionist tactics of the property’s former owner. Meanwhile, Gov. Greg Abbott has already constructed 34 miles of Texas’s own border wall, further proving that Republican leaders are stepping up where Democrats have failed for decades.
Of course, the Left is in complete meltdown mode over this. The Migration Policy Institute rushed to tout a study claiming immigrants commit crimes at lower rates than native-born citizens. But that conveniently ignores the devastating human cost of any preventable crimes committed by those who shouldn’t be here in the first place. Just ask the families who’ve suffered due to Biden’s open-border policies.
Trump’s appointment of Tom Homan as “border czar” sends a clear message: law and order will return. Homan has vowed to ensure the swift deportation of criminal illegal aliens, reinforcing Trump’s America-first agenda. With allies like Buckingham and Homan, Trump’s second term is shaping up to be a nightmare for criminal cartels and a dream come true for law-abiding Americans.
Democrats may cry foul, but they’ve had their chance—and failed spectacularly. It’s time for a government that actually protects its citizens instead of pandering to globalist fantasies.
