According to him, they are leveraging Russia’s military entry into Ukraine to foment a proxy war that will bleed Russia dry. Lavrov thinks that this is a “strategic goal” of the United States and its NATO allies.
“The acts of Western countries and (Ukrainian President Volodymyr) Zelensky under their influence demonstrate the global dimension of the Ukrainian conflict,” Lavrov asserted.
“No one can deny that the United States and its NATO partners’ geopolitical purpose is to defeat Russia on the battlefield as a means of considerably weakening or possibly destroying our country.”
Russia’s top diplomat dismissed the notion of Russo-American relations ever recovering. The Russian Foreign Minister blames the Biden government for the deterioration of bilateral relations between Russia and the United States.
“It is objectively difficult to have normal engagement with the Biden regime, which has declared strategic defeat as a goal,” Lavrov said. He went on to say that Washington’s “confrontational anti-Russian policy is getting increasingly severe and extensive.”
In other words quoted by TASS, Lavrov reminded Ukrainian authorities that they must cooperate with Russia’s offers to resolve the current crisis. If it fails to do so, the Russian military will take care of the situation.
“The adversary is well aware of our plans for the demilitarization and denazification of territory controlled by the Kiev government, as well as the removal of threats to Russia’s security coming from there, including our new regions,” Lavrov said.
“The point is simple: Do things for your own good. Otherwise, the Russian army will determine the matter.”
The Russians are serious about this. They regard Ukraine as a matter of life and death. According to them, any sort of military aid delivered to Ukraine will be viewed as a hostile act by Western nations, leading to greater escalation in Ukraine and even certain forms of retribution from Russia against the West.
If the Collective West has the courage to intervene directly in this struggle, the eventual outcome will be a nuclear war – a terrible scenario for the entire globe.
Reasonable heads must prevail here, and every effort must be made to resolve this dispute.
