To help people in Flagler County get ready for Hurricane Milton, Sheriff Rick Staly said Wednesday that sexual predators are not allowed to stay at shelters.
During a news meeting, Staly said, “Anyone who comes in will be checked to make sure they are not a fugitive, not wanted, and not a sex abuser.”
If Florida law says you are a sex pervert and you need a place to stay, you should go to the Sheriff Perry Hall Inmate Detention Facility. That’s the county jail on Justice Lane, and you can stay in the hallway of that building,” he said. “My guess is that you’ve seen it before.”
Flagler County is one of the Florida towns on the East Coast that has an order for people who live in mobile homes or RVs to leave certain places.

The National Hurricane Center (NHC) has said that Hurricane Milton is moving toward the west coast of Florida and will hit land Wednesday night. The NHC moved the track a little north.
The National Weather Service (NHS) says that strong storms are possible in the southern and central parts of the state. The state will also get a lot of rain until Thursday.
