The so-called Obama Presidential Center, once hailed as a beacon of progress, has instead become a monument to waste, corruption, and liberal incompetence. Proposed in 2017, this $830 million disaster was supposed to open in 2021. Now, its completion has been pushed back to 2026—if it even makes it that far.
An All-American Nightmare
From the start, Chicago residents opposed the center’s location, citing concerns over environmental destruction, traffic congestion, and mismanagement. But, of course, Barack Obama and his elitist pals bulldozed ahead, ignoring the working-class voices of the community.
The Institute for Policy Innovation pointed out the project’s terrible location and accused the Obama Foundation of violating public trust and environmental laws. The center is set to uproot nearly 1,000 mature trees and disrupt major migratory bird paths along Lake Michigan.
But here’s the real kicker: Obama isn’t paying for it.
Taxpayers are on the hook for over $300 million in roadwork and infrastructure costs, while the Obama Foundation sits back and rakes in millions. The burden falls on the federal government and the already financially wrecked state of Illinois, which can’t even keep its own streets safe.
Follow the Money
Despite the reckless spending, support for the project is crumbling. Donations to the Obama Foundation have plummeted from $311 million in 2022 to just $129 million in 2023. Even deep-pocketed leftist donors seem to be losing interest in propping up this failed legacy project.
Meanwhile, Obama cronies are living large.
Take Valerie Jarrett, former White House insider and current CEO of the Obama Foundation, who raked in a staggering $740,000 in one year. That’s nearly double what the U.S. president makes, just to mismanage a project that can’t even get off the ground.
Obama and his inner circle preach equity and fairness, yet they’re pocketing millions while the working-class communities they claim to champion are left to deal with the economic and environmental wreckage.
Obama’s “Racial Equity” Hypocrisy Exposed
The latest scandal rocking the Obama Center is a $40 million racial discrimination lawsuit filed by a Chicago-based African American contractor.
The lawsuit, filed against Thornton Tomasetti, the lead firm overseeing construction, accuses the company of sabotaging a Black-owned subcontractor through discriminatory practices.
The lawsuit states that Thornton Tomasetti altered engineering standards beyond what was necessary, leading to unjustified scrutiny, excessive inspections, and massive cost overruns—all of which pushed the minority-owned company to the brink of collapse.
Thornton Tomasetti fired back, saying the company was “questionably qualified” for the job. That’s a stunning revelation considering Democrats have spent years pushing “equity hiring” and minority contracting rules. Now, a Black-owned business is accusing them of rigging the game.
The hypocrisy is stunning.
A Monument to Democrat Corruption
