Democrats may be trying to drag their feet and stall President Donald Trump’s administration picks, but Senate Republicans aren’t having it. Under Sen. John Thune’s leadership, confirmations are moving faster than they did under Joe Biden or Trump’s first term—leaving Democrats fuming as they fail to stop Trump’s America-First agenda.
As of February 4, Trump’s second-term administration has seen 11 nominees confirmed, compared to just six at this same point during both Biden’s and Trump’s first term. The Senate rushed through two more confirmations on Tuesday, approving Pam Bondi as Attorney General and Doug Collins as Secretary of Veterans Affairs.
Gabbard & RFK Jr. Up Next
Next on the docket? Two of the biggest disruptors in Washington—Tulsi Gabbard for Director of National Intelligence and Robert F. Kennedy Jr. for Health and Human Services. Both survived their committee hearings Tuesday, setting up full Senate votes that could rattle the establishment even more.
Democrats are panicking at the thought of RFK Jr. and Gabbard taking power, which is why they’ve fought so hard to slow the process down. But Republicans aren’t playing that game—they’re keeping their foot on the gas to ensure Trump’s Cabinet is confirmed at record speed.
Senate Republicans: “We’re Not Slowing Down”
Republican senators have been loud and clear—Democrats can stall, whine, and throw their usual temper tantrums, but it won’t stop Trump’s nominees from getting confirmed.
- Sen. Katie Britt (R-AL): “Despite Democrat obstruction, we’re confirming @POTUS’ nominees at a strong pace—faster than in the Biden admin or first Trump admin. I’ll keep fighting to confirm President Trump’s team.”
- Sen. Steve Daines (R-MT): “The chamber is ahead of schedule and not slowing down.”
- Sen. Markwayne Mullin (R-OK): “We’re getting this done.”
This is the fastest pace for confirmations since President George W. Bush’s administration in 2001, which had its entire Cabinet confirmed by February 1. Trump’s first term took until April, and Biden took until March 22—but the new GOP-led Senate isn’t letting Democrats stall things this time around.
Democrats Can’t Stop Trump’s Agenda
This lightning-fast confirmation process is a clear message to Democrats: Their games, delays, and whining won’t work anymore. The Republican-controlled Senate is steamrolling ahead, ensuring that Trump’s America-First policies get implemented immediately.
For years, Democrats used bureaucratic slow-walking and manufactured scandals to delay and derail Trump’s first administration. Now? The swamp is losing its grip. With Gabbard, RFK Jr., and others ready to take power, Washington’s elitist stranglehold is finally breaking—and Democrats are powerless to stop it.
