The Trump administration just dropped a number that should make every American who’s been paying attention for the past decade feel a deep sense of satisfaction. Asylum is now granted in just 7% of immigration court cases. That’s down from over 50% under Biden, when judges were rubber-stamping asylum claims like they were handing out participation trophies at a kindergarten soccer tournament.
Somebody get the ACLU a box of tissues and a therapy dog. Their entire business model just got kneecapped.
The White House released the data this week under the headline “Era of Amnesty Is Over,” and honestly, that might be the most accurate press release title in the history of the federal government. In fiscal year 2025, immigration courts issued nearly 500,000 removal orders — a 57% increase over the prior year. That’s not a policy tweak. That’s a freight train running through the open-borders lobby’s living room.
And it gets better. U.S. Border Patrol just reported its eleventh consecutive month of zero releases at the southern border. Eleven months. Zero. As in, nobody’s getting a bus ticket to New York City and a free hotel room anymore. The average number of apprehensions per day along the southwest border in March was 267. Under Biden, that number was over 5,000.
Do the math on that. We went from 5,000 people a day waltzing across the border to 267. That’s a 95% reduction. If your stock portfolio dropped 95%, you’d be living in a van down by the river. But when illegal border crossings drop 95%, suddenly the New York Times can’t find the story.
Here’s what the Democrats don’t want you to understand: this isn’t some draconian crackdown on poor refugees fleeing war zones. The vast majority of asylum claims under Biden were fraudulent. Everyone knew it. The judges knew it. The lawyers knew it. The migrants’ own attorneys knew it. The whole system was a conveyor belt designed to move as many people into the country as possible and then lose track of them forever.
Trump’s team cleaned house. They removed about 100 judges from the immigration bench — judges who were granting asylum at rates that would make a slot machine blush. They replaced them with judges who actually read the law instead of treating it like a suggestion box.
The Democrats’ response has been predictable. “Cruel.” “Inhumane.” “An assault on the rule of law.” Which is hilarious coming from the same people who spent four years telling us that enforcing immigration law was racist and that anyone who showed up at the border deserved to stay forever.
Meanwhile, CBP seized over 65,000 pounds of drugs at the border in March alone, including 613 pounds of fentanyl. That’s 27% more drugs seized than the same month in 2024. Turns out when you actually patrol the border instead of using it as a welcome mat, you find a lot of poison that was headed for American communities.
We spent years watching the previous administration pretend the border was “secure” while millions of people poured into the country unchecked. We watched them fly migrants to suburban neighborhoods in the middle of the night. We watched them hand out work permits and debit cards funded by our tax dollars.
That era is over. The numbers don’t lie. The courts are enforcing the law, the border is locked down, and the only people upset about it are the ones who were profiting from the chaos.
Ninety-three percent denial rate. Eleven months of zero releases. Five hundred thousand removal orders. Those aren’t just statistics — those are promises kept. And if the Democrats want to run on reopening the border in 2026, we wish them the absolute best of luck with that strategy.
