The changing sands of Democrat Beto O’Rourke’s anti second amendment and gun control plans have been cemented, for now, into a promise to buy AR-15s from Texan citizens if the state legislature would support doing it.
O’Rourke talked with the Texas Tribune CEO, Evan Smith, this Saturday and KVUE published O’Rourke’s statements.
Smith asked him to clarify his stance on confiscating guns.
O’Rourke spoke about his belief that American citizens shouldn’t be allowed to buy AR-15s, then said: “And if I can find a consensus inside the state Legislature to have a law for Texas that allows us to purchase those AR-15s back, we would do that.”
He went down this road lots of times before.
Here is a short timeline of O’Rourke’s gun control comments:
- Sept. 12, 2019, he went on stage at a Dem presidential primary and stated, “Hell yes, we are going to take away your AR-15.”
- As a Dem gubernatorial candidate in early Feb. 2022, O’Rourke actually spoke about defending the United States Second Amendment.
- On Feb. 8, 2022, KLTV spoke about O’Rourke’s apparent abandonment of his previous confiscatory plans by quoting him as saying, “I am not interested in taking from anyone.”
- But then on March 12, 2022, he returned to his confiscation plans, promising to purchase Texans’ AR-15s and other assault rifles if the Texas legislature could support it.
O’Rourke also used the discussion with Smith as the opportunity to go against constitutional carry.
Texas is among 22 states that does not require citizens to get government permission, through a permit, before using their right to bear arms. The other 21 are: Alabama, Alaska, Arizona, Iowa, Arkansas, Idaho, Kentucky, Kansas, Maine, Montana, Mississippi, Missouri, North Dakota, New Hampshire, Oklahoma, Tennessee, South Dakota, Vermont, Utah, West Virginia, and Wyoming.
Democrats will never stop trying to steal firearms from Americans, especially white Americans, who they bizarrely fear more than radical muslims with a history of terrorism. Their anti-white schizophrenia causes them to go out of their way, and risk losing elections.
