Texas Officials Raid Elections Office–What They Found Doesn’t Surprise Us

Texas Officials Raid Elections Office–What They Found Doesn’t Surprise Us

Authorities from Texas stormed an election office in the border county of Starr to look into claims of unlawful vote harvesting during the local elections in November 2022.

The legal action is based on the county judge election, which was won by veteran Democrat Eloy Vera. The organization Project Red Texas, which made the first allegation that sparked the inquiry, said that Vera’s politiciras, or poll workers, would travel to people’s homes and purportedly fill out mail-in votes before leaving with them. According to documents, Modesta Vela is a particular politician who has reportedly been connected to investigations into election fraud. According to Project Red Texas, there is photographic proof of Vela’s deeds.

In response to the allegation, Texas Attorney General’s Office acquired a search warrant coming from Jose Luis Garza, Texas 381 District Court Judge. During the operation, authorities grabbed Modesta Vela’s voter registration details and around 180 votes.

By turning traditionally Democratic-controlled counties from blue to red in favor of the Republican Party, Project Texas Red has been attempting to gain control of several crucial counties.

The McAllen Monitor reports that in connection with a prior election when she also worked for Eloy Vera, police accused Modesta Vela of unlawful voting in 2019. Two years later, the accusations were dropped for a lack of proof. Vera has not been charged with a crime in any of the incidents.
