At a White House ceremony on July 4th, President Joe Biden appeared to become confused as he sought to exit the stage.
Prior to a performance that featured hip-hop singer Ne-Yo among others, the president spoke, and as the “Because of You” hitmaker was introduced, Biden tried to leave the stage. He rapidly discovered there was no exit in the path he had picked after turning to his left.
The question, “Where is he?” In an attempt to appear as though he was seeking Ne-Yo, Biden posed the question while keeping his back to the crowd. People in the audience laughed as Biden said, “I don’t know, man, I’d like to say hi to him.”
“They are attempting to get me off the platform,” Biden said to the crowd as he made his way back to the opposite side of the stage, drawing more laughter from the crowd. “You’re concerned that I’ll attempt to sing, aren’t you? I really appreciate that, people.”
Just a few days prior to his apparent uncertainty on stage, the president left the set of his most recent interview with MSNBC presenter Nicolle Wallace while the cameras continued running.
Immediately as Wallace thanked him for his time, Biden jumped up and left rather than waiting for the piece to end.
The president also managed to confuse the Declaration of Independence with the United States Constitution earlier in the same conversation.
After a string of rulings he didn’t agree with, Biden remarked of the Supreme Court, “Its value system seems different, and its regard for the institutions we have is different. We consider these truths to have become apparent that all men and women are made equal and gifted by their creator, but in that sense, it is not as inclusive of everyone as I believe the Constitution declares.”
Biden, however, used language that originated from the Declaration of Independence.
