Following the global success of a “disturbing” video featuring kids sucking and licking their toes during an approved fundraiser, an Oklahoma high school is now the subject of an inquiry.
An internet video purports to show four kids at least sucking and licking peanut butter off their classmates’ bare toes while lying on their stomachs on what looks to be a school gymnasium floor.
“He is eating those!” yells a person on the video.
Tens of millions of people have watched the video on the social networking site X.
The foot-licking was part of an in-person event for Deer Creek High School’s so-called “Wonderful Week of Fundraising,” according to confirmation from the school.
Administrators from the school system actually praised the fundraising event prior to the toe-licking, causing public criticism.
“Many committed students sacrificed freely of their personal time to hit this significant achievement, which will assist communities beyond the bounds of Deer Creek,” the Deer Creek School District stated in a statement. We extend our gratitude to all of the customers, companies, and sponsors who helped make this year’s Wonderful Week of Fundraising a huge success.”
Nineteenth through twelfth graders competed in the “Clash of Classes” fundraising event, which included the toe-licking challenge. The competition aimed to raise funds for Not Your Average Joe Coffee, a company that, according to their website, was founded to “inspire our society by incorporating kids and people with intellectual, developmental, and physical challenges.”
According to reports, the event on February 29 raised $152,830.38 for Not Your Average Joe Coffee.
“No Deer Creek educators or staff participated in these games,” the school district stated.
Ryan Walters, the superintendent at Oklahoma State, called the foot-licking video “disgusting” and said that an inquiry would follow.
“This is repulsive. We are clearing the schools in Oklahoma of this garbage. Our organization is looking into it,” Walters stated on X.
“This is child abuse,” Texas Senator Ted Cruz (R-Texas) declared following the incident.
“There is a video going around on social media of one of the events that includes children solely during this assembly that has, regrettably, gotten national notoriety,” the Deer Creek School District said in an interview with the New York Post.

School district representatives said, “We want to underscore to our community that most of the material surrounding this video is incorrect. But we were unable to preserve our community’s excellent reputation and the dignity of our pupils via this particular game. It is our duty to preserve and present our antlers in a favorable manner. We sincerely regret our shortcomings with reference to this one specific action.”
“Thank you for standing with us and enabling us to weather this storm and go ahead together,” the school system said in closing.
