Trump’s Peace Efforts with Russia Declared “Exhausted”

In moments like these, we are reminded of just how fragile peace can be—and how quickly hope can be lost when bad actors are allowed to drive the narrative. A Russian official has now declared that efforts by President Trump to bring peace to the Russia-Ukraine war are all but “exhausted.” This statement, made by Russian Deputy Foreign Minister Sergei Ryabkov, comes just months after President Trump’s bold meeting with Vladimir Putin in Alaska—a meeting that many hoped would be the first step toward ending the bloodshed.

But as we have seen time and time again, evil forces do not rest. The European Union, which has long acted more as an obstacle than a partner, played a key role in undercutting the momentum for peace. These European elites, obsessed with their own globalist agendas, seem more interested in prolonging conflict than in supporting real diplomacy. Instead of working with the United States and encouraging Putin to come to the table, they have chosen to fan the flames.

Ryabkov didn’t hold back. He spoke of a relationship between Russia and the United States that is “cracked and now collapsing,” placing blame squarely on Washington. But let us not forget—this is the same Russia that invaded a sovereign nation, the same Russia that has been trying to rebuild its empire on the backs of innocent people. President Trump made a genuine attempt to bring Putin to reason. He extended the hand of diplomacy. But Putin, blinded by pride and stuck in old-world thinking, could not accept that hand.

It is clear now that President Trump was right to walk away. After months of trying to broker a deal—after giving Putin multiple chances to do the right thing—President Trump finally admitted what many of us had already seen: Putin has let the world down. He continues to sacrifice his own people for a war he cannot win. Russian soldiers are dying at alarming rates, and their economy is falling apart. Yet still, he presses on.

The truth is, Putin underestimated the strength and spirit of the Ukrainian people. And now, with the full support of the European Union, Ukraine is not just holding the line—they are gaining ground. In fact, President Trump has recently said he believes Ukraine has the power to take back all of its territory. This is not empty talk. It is backed by facts on the ground and by the determination of a people unwilling to be conquered.

Some have criticized Trump’s reversal, saying he once urged Ukraine to make concessions. But a wise leader is not afraid to change course when the facts demand it. Now, President Trump is considering sending long-range Tomahawk missiles to Ukraine—a move that would allow them to strike military targets deep inside Russia. This is not about escalation. It is about giving Ukraine the tools they need to defend their homeland and end this war once and for all.

Of course, Russia is threatening retaliation. Their officials are warning of consequences. But let us be clear: this is not America’s fault. It is not Ukraine’s fault. The blame lies with the man who started this war—Vladimir Putin. And if Russia is worried about missiles, perhaps they should worry more about ending the war they began.

Peace is a noble goal, but it cannot come at the cost of justice. President Trump tried the path of peace. He tried to reason with a dictator. The world should thank him for that effort. But when evil refuses to change, good must stand firm. That is what Trump is doing now—standing firm, backing freedom, and refusing to let America be pushed around.

This is not just a battle for Ukraine. It is a battle for Western values, for national sovereignty, and for the right of people to live free from tyranny. If we fail to support those who are fighting for their freedom, we risk losing our own. Let us pray for peace—but let us never be afraid to fight for what is right.
