Another Red-State Joins The War Against Open Borders

As the migrant situation in Texas worsens, Virginia has joined other states in deploying National Guard soldiers to the southern border. States have stepped up to handle the issue in the absence of actual remedies coming from the White House since it has remained an ongoing problem since right after President Biden entered office.

“Virginia Governor Glenn Youngkin declared this week that the state will be sending National Guard soldiers to the southern border to assist Texas with the lingering crisis at the country’s border with Mexico — marking the most recent state in an increasing number of GOP-led states that are sending resources and soldiers.”

“Every state is now a border state due to the continuous border problem confronting our country,” according to Governor Glenn Youngkin. “States are responding to the need to protect our southern border, lessen the flow of fentanyl, fight human trafficking, and address the humanitarian catastrophe while leadership solutions at the federal level fall short.”

“The deployment of 100 soldiers, according to Youngkin, followed a briefing from Texas Governor Greg Abbott, who has asked other states for assistance in addressing the record migrant issue, which is now in its third year.”

In order to help in the endeavor, Florida has dispatched soldiers and other staff to the southern border. Over the weekend, soldiers from the Sunshine State landed in Texas to aid with the border response and bolster places without physical barriers. Governor Ron DeSantis has been thanked for sending soldiers by Texas Governor Greg Abbott, who also appreciated assistance from other states including Tennessee, Nebraska, and Mississippi. The decision was made at a time when the Biden administration is under fire for its inability to protect the border and interactions with migrants are on the rise.

The Biden administration gave its approval earlier this month to the use of 1,500 soldiers at the border. The action was taken right before the expiration on May 11 of the Title 42 policy, which makes it simpler to turn away migrants at the border. These individuals, however, were to be employed in administrative capacities and kept out of the enforcement process.

States are doing everything they can, but it is the cities that are dealing with the effects of the continued migrant surge, especially those that are close to the border. Even more metropolitan areas like New York City, Chicago, and others are finding it difficult to accommodate and provide services for a big number of migrants. Their infrastructure, social services, and resources are under a great deal of strain as a result, and they find it difficult to meet the demands of the situation. Local communities are being forced to shoulder the load, which is neither fair nor long-term viable.

While other governments’ support is now required, it is important to understand that this isn’t a solution that will last. Instead of remaining in his office and doing nothing, President Biden has to take the initiative and take decisive action to solve the issue. This entails stepping up border security measures, making sure that migrants are processed effectively and humanely, and putting in place sensible immigration laws. The results of Biden’s approach to this issue are already clear. How much longer can the nation withstand this?
