Democratic Rep. Leigh Finke claims that in 2023, Gov. Tim Walz, the Democratic Party’s vice presidential nominee, “was always right there” for a pro-transgender measure that targeted out-of-state kids for irreversible medical treatments.
Finke, a man who maintains his gender identity as a transsexual woman, spoke to ABC on August 6.
“When we elected 11 new LGBTQ members to the [Minnesota] House two years ago and established the queer caucus, I began promoting the significance of the trans refugee law. He remained in the same location at all times. He realized that this is how we can support the community and those who are different. Hear from Tim Walz’s close advisor, who is likely to receive an invitation to join the Harris-Walz administration.”
“He was right there with me while I was fighting for the trans refugee law.”
Terry Schilling, the CEO of the American Principles Project, told Breitbart News that the trans refugee law is essentially state-sanctioned kidnapping. He went on:
“The fundamental idea of the measure is that it forbids [Minnesota family services] from granting custody requests and directives from [parents] in other states.” Imagine a parent whose child wants to undergo a sexual transition but lives in Ohio, where such [transgender medical] operations are illegal. No matter how old your child is when they travel to Minnesota, the state will cover their transportation costs at both the federal and state levels of government spending, and not return them to their parents.
In April 2023, Governor Tim Walz signed the legislation that Representative Finke and his fellow Democrats had enacted.
Walz’s campaign mate, Lt. Governor of the State Peggy Flanagan, also supported the policy.
“When our children tell us who they are, it is our obligation as grown-ups to listen and to believe them,” adds Tim Walz’s lieutenant governor, Peggy Flanagan, who also supports hormone therapy and transgender surgery for minors.”
Schilling answered, “Children need their parents to shape them.” She stresses trusting children when they tell us who they are. Are you joking with me?
Hospitals and clinics now have more ability to advertise and recruit for taxpayer-funded transgender care because of Walz’s policy:
“I learned from a follower that parents can provide approval for doctors to do operations and treatments on their children without their consent at a pediatric facility in Minnesota.”
