There was a time in America when public servants spoke with dignity, when they debated policy with respect and reverence for the people they served. But today, we see something different — something dangerous. On national television, Congresswoman Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez accused President Donald Trump of wanting children to die. Yes, you read that correctly. She claimed that the President of the United States wants to “make sure that kids are dying because they don’t have access to insurance.”
This is not just a false statement. It is cruel, reckless, and deeply un-American.
Now, we all know that politics can get heated. But there is a difference between disagreement and slander. There is a difference between asking tough questions and throwing around wild accusations. What Rep. Ocasio-Cortez said wasn’t just wrong — it was a dangerous example of how far the radical Left will go to stir up fear and hatred.
Let us be clear: President Trump has always stood for the American family. He has fought for lower drug prices, better healthcare options, and a stronger economy so that parents can provide for their children. Under his leadership, we saw record investments in American communities, including in healthcare access and innovation. The truth is, President Trump wants every American to thrive — especially our children. He believes in building a future where families are strong, not torn down by government overreach and socialist schemes.
But to the Left, none of that matters. To them, facts are optional. What matters most is scoring political points, even if it means accusing your fellow countrymen of wanting children to die. That is not leadership. That is not compassion. That is propaganda, plain and simple.
We should also look carefully at the timing of these remarks. Why now? Why this level of hysteria? The answer is simple: the Democrats are in chaos. They are divided. Senator Chuck Schumer is under pressure from the far-left wing of his party. There are whispers of a primary challenge from Ocasio-Cortez herself. Instead of finding solutions, they point fingers. Instead of taking responsibility for a potential government shutdown, they blame President Trump. It’s a tired game, and the American people are tired of it.
Rep. Ocasio-Cortez says she is fighting for the uninsured. But let’s not forget how we got here. It was the Left’s policies — the endless red tape, the government mandates, the bloated bureaucracy — that made healthcare more expensive and less accessible. They promised us Obamacare would fix everything. It did not. And when it failed, they blamed conservatives instead of owning up to their mistakes.
If the Congresswoman truly wants to help American families, then she should stop the name-calling and start working across the aisle. She should stop demonizing her fellow Americans and start looking at real solutions — solutions that empower families, reduce costs, and protect life at every stage.
It is time to return to a politics of respect. We can disagree on policy without accusing one another of murder. We can debate the best path forward without tearing down the very institutions that hold this country together. President Trump has called for unity, strength, and national pride. He has called on all Americans to put country before party, people before politics.
The American people deserve better than this. They deserve leaders who speak truthfully, act nobly, and care deeply about the future of our nation. Rep. Ocasio-Cortez may believe her words are helping her cause, but in reality, they are a reminder of how far the Left has drifted from the values that made America great.
