Putin Narrowly Escapes A High-Tech Assassination

Russia claims to have successfully avoided a drone strike on the Kremlin overnight, as stunning video footage depicts what appears to be a “terrorist attack.”

In a statement released this week through the official channel Tass, the Russian government claims that “two unmanned aircraft were directed at the Kremlin” and that they successfully repelled an attack by Ukrainian drones on the center of the Russian state.

Ukraine has not publicly claimed responsibility for the strike, and Russia has not provided any firm evidence of what occurred. Nonetheless, President Volodymyr Zelesnky’s head of staff said that he had posted “fire emojis” to his private Telegram channel shortly after the story broke, but quickly deleted them.

“Update at 1600 BST: Ukraine denies any involvement.”

“Russia was obvious in its accusation that Ukraine was behind this overnight attack, and Ukraine initially remained deafeningly silent. While not a single official statement has been released by means of state channels, government spokespersons have been speaking through Western media sources not only to deny any involvement but also suggest that the attack might possibly have been carried out by guerillas operating within Russia.”

Mykhaylo Podolyak, a government counselor to Ukraine, is quoted by Radio Free Europe as saying: “The appearance of unidentifiable unmanned aerial vehicles near energy installations or on Kremlin’s land can only point to the guerilla actions of local opposition groups. Drones, as you know, may be purchased at any military store.”

“It is clear that Putin’s clan has lost control of the country. On the other hand, Russia has often said that it has complete control over the air. In a nutshell, something is occurring in The Russian Federation, but not with Ukraine’s drones hovering above the Kremlin.”

Sergiy Nykyforov spoke to CNN this week, saying, “We don’t have details regarding the so-called nocturnal strikes on the Kremlin… As President Zelensky has declared multiple times, Ukraine employs all available tools to liberate its own land, not to invade others.”

“Don’t expect to learn the truth about this anytime soon, if at all.”
