Adam Schiff built his entire political career on lies. Now it appears he may have built his personal wealth on them, too.
According to multiple sources inside the Trump administration, Schiff is officially under criminal investigation for mortgage fraud. Let that sink in. The same Adam Schiff who spent years smearing President Trump with the Russia hoax, who stood in front of cameras pretending to be the guardian of “truth” and “democracy,” is now facing a federal investigation into allegations that he falsified mortgage documents to secure better loan terms on a Maryland property.
The investigation is being led by a U.S. attorney in Maryland and stems from a criminal referral sent to the Department of Justice by the Federal Housing Finance Agency (FHFA). That referral, authored by FHFA Director William Pulte, lays out a damning timeline. It alleges Schiff “falsified bank documents and property records” from 2003 to 2019 in order to claim his Potomac, Maryland home as his primary residence—despite representing California in Congress and claiming a California condo as his primary home during campaigns.
Why does this matter? Because banks offer much better mortgage terms for a primary residence than for a secondary home. Lower rates, better terms, reduced risk. Schiff allegedly lied to get those benefits.
This wasn’t a one-time paperwork error. The FHFA found multiple refinancings—2003, 2009, 2011, 2012, and 2013—in which Schiff listed the Maryland property as his “principal residence.” Yet when it became politically inconvenient in 2020, he suddenly changed the designation to reflect reality.
Worse, Schiff’s team practically admitted they knew what they were doing. A Schiff spokesperson told CNN in 2023 that both the California and Maryland properties were labeled as primary residences “to distinguish them from a vacation property.” That’s not a defense. That’s an acknowledgment of intent—a clear sign they were manipulating classifications for financial advantage.
In most circles, that’s called fraud.
Let’s not forget who we’re talking about here. This is the same guy who sat atop the House Intelligence Committee and used his position to push the baseless Russia collusion narrative. He told us for years that he had “direct evidence” that Trump colluded with Russia. He never produced it. It never existed.
And now, when confronted with real evidence of his own wrongdoing, Schiff is doing what Democrats always do—crying “political retaliation.” Schiff wrote on social media, “This is just Donald Trump’s latest attempt at political retaliation against his perceived enemies.” Right. Because Trump apparently traveled back in time to 2003 and forced Schiff to lie on his mortgage applications.
Give us a break.
Here’s the truth: Schiff thought he was untouchable. He thought being a loyal foot soldier for the Democrat machine would shield him from the consequences of his actions. And for a while, it did. He was even one of the Democrats Joe Biden rushed to pardon on his way out the door this past January. But that pardon doesn’t cover financial crimes like mortgage fraud, and it certainly doesn’t cover a decades-long pattern of deception.
And Schiff’s not alone. New York Attorney General Letitia James—another Democrat who led the civil suit against Trump for supposed “real estate fraud”—has also been accused of listing a Virginia vacation home as a primary residence. The double standard is astonishing. Democrats scream “fraud!” when Trump uses real estate valuations in legal ways, but they’re silent when their own leaders cut corners to line their pockets.
President Trump summed it up perfectly. “Adam ‘Shifty’ Schiff is in BIG TROUBLE!” he said. “He falsified Loan Documents… I have always suspected Shifty Adam Schiff was a scam artist.”
The bottom line is this: the Democrats built an empire on lies, projection, and selective prosecution. They have weaponized the law against their political opponents while ignoring the rot within their own ranks. But now, the tide is turning. The rule of law is making a comeback under the Trump administration, and no amount of finger-pointing or social media spin is going to save Adam Schiff from the consequences of his own actions.
Justice is finally catching up with Shifty Schiff. It’s about time.
