Outside the Democratic National Convention (DNC) in Chicago, Illinois, on Monday, Green Party presidential candidate Jill Stein encouraged Democrats to “abandon” VP Kamala Harris.
“You are assisting and agreeing to genocide if you vote in favor of it. Stein stated in an X post that included a video, “Don’t let them persuade you out of your humanity.”
“Abandon Biden and now Abandon Harris, thank you for demonstrating how we may use our voices and our votes to demand that genocide halt!”
“Incredible courage, for your vision, for your unstoppable drive to stand up and lead the way forward, not only to stop genocide but also to keep the White House accountable for genocide,” Stein said in her remarks, expressing her particular gratitude to Abandon Biden, now known as Abandon Harris.
She continued, saying:
“Because democracy cannot exist without it. Thus, I would like to express my gratitude to Abandon Harris and Abandon Biden for their efforts on behalf of all Americans, not only the Arab-American or Palestinian communities. You are assisting us in reclaiming our critically endangered democracy.”
Later on, she criticized Harris for not having “even one difficult interview yet.”
She went on to say, “And a news conference.”
“So, you can rest assured that the current policies will cause the honeymoon to end, as this individual has a history of causing Americans to experience moments of anguish, despair, and difficulty.” That suffering is present in both our foreign and domestic policies. “That suffering is primarily the result of the Democratic and Republican parties.”
She said, “Do not believe for a second that the Democratic Party is the solution against fascism.”

The reason for this is that the Democrats have promoted the so-called neoliberal agenda, which includes massive tax handouts to the extremely rich, privatization, austerity measures, and a never-ending war,” the speaker said.
Not only is Stein urging Democrats to “abandon Harris,” but Cornel West, a third-party presidential contender, also tweeted out the same message on Monday while taking part in the pro-Palestinian demonstration outside the DNC.

“We are advocating for more than that,” West responded when asked whether he was asking Democratic voters to turn their backs on Harris.
“Palestinians should live in freedom. We want them to have an honorable and moral life. We desire their liberation from this genocide, and I hope the kids will look back with smiles on their cheeks instead of seeing their bodies torn apart. That’s what we truly want, and that’s true for oppressed people everywhere,” he stated, going on to say that he also wanted it in Brazil, the south side of Chicago, Haiti, Sudan, and the Congo.”
