A letter received by Breitbart News says that several of the most important conservative leaders backed Representative Jim Jordan (R-OH) for Speaker of the House, praising his vote record as well as his leadership of the House Freedom Caucus, House Judiciary Committee, and House Weaponization Committee.
“This week, for the very first time in our country’s history, the House of Representatives was able to remove the Speaker of the House. This time has come at a very important crossroads for our country,” the top conservatives wrote in a letter. “Congress must now decide whether to choose an establishment leader who will use the same procedures that make the swamp dirty, or they must choose a tried-and-true conservative leader who will bring the party together.”
“There’s a reason the American people chose a majority in the House, and they deserve a Speaker that will fight for them,” the letter said.
Many people signed the letter, including Ginni Thomas, J. Kenneth Blackwell, who used to be Ohio’s treasurer and secretary of state, as well as Mark Meadows, who used to be White House chief of staff.
The letter went on:
“Since his election, Congressman Jim Jordan has continuously spoken out for the Conservative Movement and all Americans. The way he voted, led the House Freedom Caucus, and was in charge of the Judiciary and the Weaponization of the Federal Government committees all show how successful he is. This Congress, Jordan enacted the strictest immigration and border enforcement measure ever. He also stopped IRS agents from calling people at home without permission and held the crooked Biden DOJ and FBI responsible.”
“The letter ended with the suggestion that conservatives back a leader who is going to hold the Biden Administration responsible, cut wasteful spending, and make Washington, DC, a different place forever.”
This week, after the House decided to oust former Speaker Kevin McCarthy (R-CA), Jordan made it official that he was going to run for Speaker. A number of Jordan’s political peers have already given him strong support, and former President Trump has also backed him.
