Another pointless crime happened in the nation’s capital on Monday night. Mike Gill, a former Trump official who was an employee at the Commodity Futures Trading Commission under the former president, was robbed and killed.
It was his wife Kristina who told everyone the sad news:
“It is with great sadness that I inform you all of the passing of Mike Gill, my husband” Kristina said. “His sudden passing has left a hole in our lives that will never be filled.”
“In this grief, we are very grateful for the love from family and friends and extend our gratitude to those who reached out to offer assistance and condolences.”
The “defund the police” movement and criminal justice reform have caused a lot of violence in many cities across the country. Even though we read a lot of these stories, it’s still shocking to see how careless and bold some of these crooks have become.
After the event, when Gill was still living, a spokesman said:
“Mike is a great husband, dad, friend, and worker. No matter what, he always has a great sense of fun. He is friendly with everyone and always looking for ways to bring people together and make them feel loved and accepted.
“His kindness touched many lives, as evident by the outpouring of support his family has received.”
The suspect went on to kill another person along with other crimes.
People who defend the shooter would probably say that he or she was just confused or needed help, but I wasn’t saddened by this news:
“State and local authorities worked together to locate the suspect and by early Tuesday, the suspected gunman was shot and killed by New Carrollton police officers in Prince George’s County.”
Gill has a wife and three kids who survive him. We pray for them.
