On Wednesday, President Joe Biden sent 31 Abrams main battle tanks to Ukraine troops as former President Donald J. Trump urged for peace talks to resolve the conflict between Russia and Ukraine, calling the situation as “extremely hazardous, explosive, and rising by the day.”
In a campaign video published on Wednesday, Trump said that “Joe Biden had taken us to the verge of nuclear Armageddon and that now Biden is doing what he predicted ten months ago would lead to World War III: He is sending in American tanks.”
Last week, Biden declared that the tanks will be sent to Ukraine and referred to them as “the equivalent of one Ukraine battalion.”
According to Breitbart News’ Sean Moran, last March, Biden decided against providing Ukraine with 28 Soviet MiG-29 fighter planes, telling House Democrats that doing so would escalate the conflict into a global warfare.
“Don’t fool yourselves, no matter what you say, that is called World War III,” Biden warned Democrats at the time. “The idea that we’re going to bring in offensive weapons and have aircraft, tanks, and trains going in with American pilots and American personnel,” Biden said.
Following Defense Secretary Lloyd Austin’s declaration that the United States “would back Ukraine’s self-defense for as long as it takes,” Biden made his move last week.
After highlighting Biden’s divergent stances from the previous year to this year, Trump demanded de-escalation and peace talks:
“Before this already terrible calamity escalates out of control and really causes World War III, it is long past time for all sides to negotiate a diplomatic resolution to the war in Ukraine. And because it would be a nuclear war, this would be a conflict unlike any other.”
Then, Trump asserted, “If I had been in the White House, Russia’s invasion of Ukraine would never have happened — not even imaginable, not even a possibility.”
“Believe it or not, it would be simple to put a stop to this pointless conflict and demand peace in Ukraine right away.” The 45th President stated that “it would be quite simple to do.”
