Unaccredited Daycare Scandal: Capitol Shooter Potentially Collecting Millions from the Government to Watch Kids in his Home?

In a country founded on truth, justice, and the rule of law, we must take a hard look at the people we trust with power. One such person is Lt. Michael Byrd, the man who shot and killed Ashli Babbitt on January 6, 2021.

That day, Babbitt, a veteran of the U.S. Air Force and an unarmed protester, was with other protesters in the halls of the Capitol when Byrd singled her out and ended her life. She was not given a warning. She was not given a chance to stop or turn around. She was shot without mercy.

The government cleared Byrd of wrongdoing. But many Americans still ask the simple question: Why was deadly force used so quickly against an unarmed woman? And why has this man, far from being held accountable, been rewarded?

Before leaving office, Joe Biden used one of his last acts to pardon Lt. Byrd. That alone should tell us where the priorities of the old regime stood. Instead of honoring the voice of the people and seeking truth, they chose to protect one of their own—no matter the cost to justice or public trust.

Lt. Byrd whines about getting death threats for “doing my job.”

But the story doesn’t stop there.

It has now come to light that Lt. Byrd has been running an unaccredited day-care center with his wife out of their Maryland home since 2008. That’s right—the same man who shot an unarmed woman now runs a business caring for children, and it has never been officially accredited.

Even more shocking, day-care centers, like Byrd’s, have received $190 million in taxpayer-funded payments from the Department of Health and Human Services.

Let that number sink in: $190 million. That’s not a small error or a clerical mistake. That is a massive sum of money, taken from the American people and funneled toward someone who has never truly answered for his actions.

To be clear, the daycare referenced has not been accused of taking in millions of dollars. Sperry’s point is broader: the daycare industry has shown itself to be vulnerable to large-scale grift, as recent developments in Minnesota have made painfully obvious.

There are no public reviews for this daycare. No sign of how many children it watches. No clear evidence of how that money has been used. In a time when hardworking families struggle to afford child care, how is this possible? How does an unaccredited home day-care center pull in funding from the government?

It raises serious questions. Who approved these payments? Why hasn’t this operation been investigated fully? And how many more hidden scandals like this are buried within the federal bureaucracy?

It also raises the suspicions about government payoffs and reward money and other uncomfortable questions about how our government legally rewards people for doing tasks that end their career. Some officials retire from government and immediately get large book deals or advances, even though their books never sell all that well. It’s like a secret government payment system.

This is what happens when accountability breaks down. When those in power protect each other instead of serving the people. When the government grows too large, too secretive, and too powerful.

Ashli Babbitt’s death was a tragedy, not just for her family, but for the whole nation. She was a citizen exercising her right to protest, and she was met with deadly force. Instead of justice, we got silence. Instead of answers, we got excuses. And now, instead of shame, the man who killed her is running a suspicious business, potentially funded by our tax dollars.

This is not the America our Founders envisioned. This is not the land of liberty and justice for all. It is time to return to our roots—to truth, to accountability, and to the values that built this nation.

We must continue to demand answers. We must shine light into every dark corner of government. And we must never forget those like Ashli Babbitt, who stood for something greater than themselves and paid the ultimate price.

Justice delayed is justice denied. And the American people will not be silenced.
