Biden Sets The American Economy Back Almost 15 Years

The average cost per gallon of gas in the U. S. has jumped up to $4.00 – the highest the national average has been in almost 14 years.

The $4.00 national average increased forty cents since the past week and is fifty-seven cents more from only a month ago, AAA reports. This past year on March 6, the price average was $2.76 per gallon in the U. S.. The national average is the largest it has been since July of 2008, CNBC reports. On that month, the gas price averages topped out at 4.11 cents, and this is the record of all-time.

States that are on the West Coast and in the Northeast are seeing the country’s highest prices. This week, AAA said California’s average gas price was at $5.28 a gallon, while nearby states, that includes Oregon, Washington, and Nevada, had prices that average more than $4.40 per gallon. Plus, all the states in the northeast – from Delaware and Maryland up to Maine – had averages above $4.00 per gallon, according to AAA.

Republican Rep. Mike Rogers (AL), the top Republican that is on the House Armed Service Committee, recently told the FM Talk 106.5 in Mobile, AL, that the gas prices have increased because of Russia invading Ukraine, Breitbart News reported.

“The truth is, and it is true of all your listeners, the cost of gas is going to keep going up because of what is going on in Ukraine because of the disruptive effect it has had on the energy sector, period,” Rodgers said.

He then asked for the Keystone XL to be reopened so that America can start producing their own oil once again:

“And when we stop purchasing oil from Russia, it will increase even more. It will hurt, but we should not be giving money to Russia in this illegal war to kill Ukrainians. What we should be doing is reopening the drilling on federal lands, opening the XL pipeline back up that Pres. Biden stopped at the time he agreed to the opening of the Nord Stream 2 pipeline. This country has got a lot of resources that we can greatly increase our production of oil and natural gas with and be self-sustaining.”

Mike Rodgers and others are asking Joe Biden to open up the production of domestic oil, but the White House has not been eager for this solution. While going on MSNBC’s 11th Hour this week, Pete Buttigieg, Secretary of Transportation, said the pipeline opening back up would be “going after permanent answers to fix temporary problems,” Breitbart News reported.
