Three illegal migrants in Massachusetts have been charged with unspeakable crimes against children. Let that sink in: individuals who should never have been in this country are accused of destroying young lives, all because of a system that prioritizes open borders over public safety.
Take the case of 21-year-old Mynor Stiven De Paz-Munoz, a Guatemalan national who crossed the border illegally in 2020 near Eagle Pass, Texas. After being caught, he was released with a “notice to appear” before an immigration judge—a policy straight from the Democrats’ “Catch and Release” handbook. Instead of being deported, De Paz-Munoz was arrested earlier this year in Great Barrington, Massachusetts, on multiple charges of raping a child. But it gets worse: local authorities, in their infinite wisdom, ignored a detainer request from ICE and released him on bail. Only after months of freedom did federal agents finally take him into custody on November 13.
“Mynor Stiven De Paz-Munoz stands accused of horrifically victimizing a Massachusetts child and represents a significant threat to our neighborhoods,” said acting ERO Boston Field Office Director Patricia Hyde. If Democrats had their way, he’d probably still be free.
Then there’s 42-year-old Billy Erney Buitrago-Bustos from Colombia, who overstayed a visa after entering the U.S. in 2016. Buitrago-Bustos was charged with multiple counts of child rape but was only turned over to ICE after posting bail. And let’s not forget Alexandre Romao De Oliveira, a Brazilian convicted of child rape in his home country who fled to the U.S. in 2022. He crossed illegally, was released with another one of those useless “notices to appear,” and was finally arrested in Massachusetts this week.
This is the brutal reality of the Democrats’ open-border policies. When they prioritize virtue-signaling over law enforcement, the consequences are devastating. Meanwhile, Biden and his progressive pals are busy lecturing America about “compassion” while innocent children pay the price. Under a Republican administration, these criminals wouldn’t have crossed the border in the first place. Democrats can keep making excuses, but the facts are clear: weak border policies enable monsters. Americans deserve better, and they’ll get it under leaders who put public safety first.
