Biden’s Document Scandal Splits His Administration In Half

The country’s top law enforcer, Attorney General Merrick Garland, asserted on Monday that his office had not imposed a double standard of justice to President Joe Biden’s issue involving sensitive documents despite apparently working with Biden’s personal attorneys to keep the scandal hidden from the American people.

Garland told reporters during a press conference at the Justice Dept’s headquarters that “we don’t have separate regulations for Republicans or Democrats, separate regulations for the powerful or the powerless, separate regulations for the rich and those who are poor, we apply the facts as well as the law for each case in an impartial, non-partisan manner. We always act in that way.”

Garland, however, seems to have handled the Mar-a-Lago raid very differently than the probe of Biden, at least based on claims from the establishment media and an analysis of the timing of events.

The White House as well as the DOJ allegedly tried to keep the scandal hidden from the public, and when CBS News initially contacted the White House about the first leak of classified material unlawfully stored at the Biden Penn Center, they reportedly refused to reveal that the second cache of classified documents already had been discovered at Biden’s residence in Wilmington.

The Post acknowledged the Biden administration’s attempt to hide information about the second cache of secret documents, saying that “early on, Biden’s lawyers and Justice Dept. investigators both assumed they had a mutual understanding about keeping the subject quiet.”

The aides and the DOJ “maintained the discreet cooperation for weeks,” according to The New York Times.

The Penn Biden Center was the only place where massive amounts of classified material were kept after their initial discovery on November 2, according to information provided to the DOJ by Biden’s personal counsel, the New York Times reported on Sunday. When several caches of top-secret materials were eventually discovered, that information was proven to be false. The DOJ requested a search of Biden’s house only after new materials were discovered there, and the search brought up more documents.

The scandal was revealed to CBS News on January 9. Republican politicians think that the American people would not be aware of Biden’s misdeeds if the matter had not been made public. According to the reports, White House officials are worried about how the classified material controversy involving Biden was released to the public after only a small number of DOJ and White House officials were aware of the infraction.

It’s unclear why Biden’s private counsel began looking through his secretly stored records. The initial justification or purpose for the search has not been disclosed by the White House or DOJ.
