Greg Casar, D-Texas, demanded an “investigation” into Greene’s trades, implying—without a shred of evidence—that she somehow profited improperly after Trump’s April 2 announcement of sweeping reciprocal tariffs on foreign imports. This comes on the heels of House Democrats signaling broader efforts to criminalize Trump’s America First economic strategy under the guise of “ethics.”
Let’s be clear: Greene didn’t break any laws. Her purchases—fully disclosed in line with the STOCK Act—were made on April 3 and April 4, during a market downturn driven by knee-jerk investor reactions to Trump’s global tariff overhaul. Greene bought shares in mainstream companies like Apple, Lululemon, and Dell. She made modest trades ranging between $1,001 and $15,000. That’s hardly the behavior of a Wall Street manipulator—it’s the behavior of someone buying the dip, just like millions of other Americans do every time the market fluctuates.
But because Greene supports Trump—and because Trump is finally pulling the plug on decades of globalist trade abuses—she’s the latest target of a coordinated smear campaign from Democrats and their media allies.
Casar went so far as to accuse Greene and the Trump administration of operating a “culture of corruption,” dragging in Elon Musk, tax policy, Medicaid reforms, and tariffs, in what amounted to a tantrum about the MAGA movement’s return to power. The problem for Casar and his ilk isn’t Greene’s trades—it’s that Trump’s economic agenda is working, and the Democrats have nothing to counter it with but tired soundbites and conspiratorial ramblings.
