On the Senate floor Tuesday, pro-abortion Majority Leader Chuck Schumer said that the chamber would vote on legislation to codify abortion rights in law. After a leaked draft decision from the Supreme Court’s Dobbs v. Jackson Women’s Health Organization indicated that the justices intended to overturn landmark case Roe v. Wade.
“The reported votes of the Republican-appointed Justices to overrule Roe v. Wade will go down in infamy,” Schumer said on the floor. “One of the most awful, damaging decisions in all of history.”
According to Schumer, some of the Supreme Court Justices “ripped up the Constitution, defiled the court’s reputation, and misled the Senate.”
“The party of Lincoln and Eisenhower has totally devolved,” he declared.
“Every GOP senator who voted for Mitch McConnell and Trump judges will now have to defend themselves to the American people,” he added.
“I’d just like to make three points; now that the Supreme Court is expected to repeal Roe, I intend for the Senate to hold a vote on legislation codifying the right to abortion in law. Second, this vote is not merely academic. It’s as important and real as it gets. We will cast our vote to safeguard a woman’s right to choose and every American will see which side each Senator takes. Every citizen in the country will be able to see where each Senator stands on this issue. Furthermore, I’d like to say something directly to the American people. The future of 100 million women’s rights is now on the ballot in November’s elections.”
For months, Democrats have been working to pass legislation that would codify Roe into federal law and undermine state laws restricting abortion. The Women’s Health Protection Act (WHPA) is one such bill.
This goes to show that Democrats will not stop at anything to allow women to be irresponsible with their reproductive capacity. What would happen if the same logic were applied to me? There would be no child support in America, that’s what! It is clear that Democrats are a party that is controlled by the worst kind of women!
