Will Renee Good Become George Floyd 2.0?

In Minneapolis, a tragic event unfolded that has quickly become a political flashpoint. Renee Nicole Good, a 37-year-old American citizen, was shot and killed by an Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) agent after she tried to ram a agent with her car during a federal immigration operation.

According to official reports and video evidence, Good used her SUV as a weapon, attempting to ram the agent. The officer, fearing for his life and the safety of others, responded with deadly force.

Yet, instead of a clear-cut case of self-defense, the usual voices on the Left have already begun twisting the story. Minnesota Governor Tim Walz, Rep. Ilhan Omar, and Minneapolis Mayor Jacob Frey are all lining up to paint Good as an innocent bystander, unjustly killed by federal law enforcement. This is the same tired playbook they’ve used before: stir public anger, ignore facts, and try to spark chaos in the streets.

But this time, their attempt to ignite another national firestorm—the kind we saw after George Floyd’s death in 2020—is bound to fail. And here’s why.

First, Renee Good doesn’t fit the narrative. She’s a white woman. The radical Left, obsessed with identity politics, only sees value in a victim when they can use that person’s race or background to push their agenda. Good’s race makes her an inconvenient martyr for the social justice crowd. The truth is, they are not interested in justice. They are interested in power. And if a story doesn’t help them gain more of it, they move on quickly.

Second, the facts are not on their side. Unlike George Floyd, who was pinned down for nearly nine minutes and appeared helpless in the infamous video clip that spread like wildfire, Renee Good was behind the wheel of a moving vehicle. She was not surrendering. She was not still. She was reportedly “playing offense,” as some commentators have put it. The ICE agent, facing a real and immediate threat, acted to protect himself and others. This was not a case of excessive force. It was a moment of self-defense in a dangerous situation.

Jason Whitlock and his guests on BlazeTV broke this down clearly. Shemeka Michelle pointed out that the time of year also plays a role. Unlike the warm summer months of 2020, when streets were filled with protestors, this incident occurred in the dead of winter. Not many are eager to march in freezing temperatures—especially not for a case that doesn’t fit the Left’s usual script.

Dre Baldwin and Virgil Walker added more perspective. Baldwin noted that even if Good had been black, the facts surrounding the case would still make it difficult to rally the same kind of public outrage. Walker added that law enforcement officers are statistically less likely to use deadly force when the suspect is black, due to fear of backlash. That’s a disturbing sign of how much our nation has been pressured into political correctness over truth and safety.

Let’s be clear: every life lost is a tragedy. But not every tragedy is a crime committed by the state. The Left would like nothing more than to turn every police action into a symbol of oppression. But the American people are waking up. We know the difference between justice and manipulation.

President Trump and DHS Secretary Kristi Noem have stood firm in defending the officer’s actions. They understand the importance of law and order. They know that federal agents face danger every day, especially when enforcing the law in cities where local leaders refuse to cooperate.

This is not George Floyd 2.0. This is a nation beginning to reclaim its sense of truth, even when the facts are inconvenient to the Left. We cannot allow radicals to rewrite every story to fit their agenda. We must continue to stand for law, for order, and for the brave men and women who protect our borders and our streets.

America doesn’t need more division. It needs courage, clarity, and leadership. And under President Trump, we are seeing a return to all three.
