Liz Cheney Makes A Big 2024 Announcement

Rep. Liz Cheney of Wyoming stated on CNN’s “State of the Union” that she has not yet determined whether to run for president in 2024.

Representative Cheney, who supported impeaching then-President Donald Trump following the January 6, 2021, Capitol riot, is one of the two Republicans on the House Select Committee formed to investigate the January 6 event.

“I’m focused on the work of the committee at this time and also my work as a Wyomingite representative,” she added. “I’ll make a decision about 2024 down the road.”

Representative Liz Cheney has represented Wyoming’s at-large congressional district since 2017. She is the daughter of former Vice President Dick Cheney.

In the primary, Trump has endorsed Hageman and called Cheney a “warmonger,” “disloyal Republican,” and “RINO,” which means she’s a “Republican in name only.”

“I’m going to keep fighting hard to ensure that Donald Trump is never anywhere close to the White House ever again, no matter what happens on August 16,” Cheney added.

Geraldo Rivera, a Fox News contributor and talk-show host, has praised Cheney as a “hero” while claiming that while Trump would lose against Biden, Cheney would beat the Democratic president.

“Liz Cheney is a once-in-a-lifetime stand-up hero. She has put her career on the line and stayed in the fight, unlike everyone else involved. Her name will be honored in history. In the meantime, it’s up to Wyoming.” Rivera tweeted.

“Biden would defeat Trump,” he wrote on Twitter. “Cheney would beat Biden.”

In another message, he declared, “Liz Cheney for POTUS.”

Biden, who has been suffering from declining job approval ratings in a number of polls, previously stated that he would seek re-election if he was “in good health.” If Biden were to run and be elected for a second term, which would make him the oldest person ever to serve as president, he would be 86 years old at the conclusion of his second term.

If Cheney were to take on Trump in the GOP primary, she would almost certainly lose.
