Rep. Mike Rogers (R-AL) has reintroduced a bill that would completely terminate America’s ties with the United Nations. The bill is sponsored by Rep. Thomas Massie (R-KY).
The bill would withdraw the United States from the UN, its affiliated organizations including the World Health Organization, and other such groups. It would also eliminate funding to globalist organizations. The measure would also exclude America from any agreements with the international bodies.
“The President may terminate the United States’ membership in the UN, as well as any organ, commission, specialized agency, or other formally affiliated body of the United Nations,” according to the bill’s text. “This Act and the changes made by this Act will go into effect two years after the date of enactment unless otherwise specified.”
“The United States will withdraw from any UN agreements and conventions on the day this act is enacted, as well as any organ, commission, specialized agency, or other formally affiliated body of the United Nations. The remaining activities of such conventions and agreements will not be carried out,” according to the bill.
Many Americans would likely delight in the idea of the U.S. cutting all relations with the UN, but given that this has never before happened, it is doubtful that Congress will pass “the American Sovereignty Restoration Act,” which has been put forward without success in recent years.
According to Rogers, the organization has “repeatedly demonstrated itself to be an ineffective bureaucracy.”
“The UN’s founding charter defines the organization’s goal as being to ‘reaffirm faith in fundamental human rights, in the worth and dignity of all human people, and in the equal rights of women and men.’ However, Michelle Bachelet, the UN High Commissioner for Human Rights, has shown herself to be nothing but a puppet for China’s Communist Party – assisting them in downplaying an ongoing genocide against Uyghur people,” said Rogers.
“This bill would also end the United States’ membership in the corrupt World Health Organization. When the WHO put public health second to the Chinese Communist Party by assisting the CCP cover up COVID-19’s origins, their credibility was lost,” Rogers added.
