As RedState has been reporting for years, San Francisco was once the gem in the crown of California, but it is now an example of how poorly to govern a city—it is drug-infested, crime-ridden, and tax-plagued. It’s a city that has its own “poop map,” which is necessary because the city’s homeless people urinate wherever they want in the open.
According to Fox Business, the Head of a real estate firm believes it’s become increasingly difficult to persuade potential clients to relocate to or purchase property in San Francisco. He was so concerned that after he was held up at gunpoint and robbed right in front of his own residence in broad daylight, he addressed a letter to the city:
“It is now challenging for me to advise potential prospects to relocate to San Francisco,” he stated. “We have no sense of security despite paying some of the highest municipal and state taxes in the country.”
“The basis of a successful city should be safeguarding public safety, and that should be the govt’s primary concern. Jobs and culture can only develop in a place where residents feel safe with their families.”
Additionally, Moghadam, who is also a member of the Bay Area Council’s board of directors, expressed his “great fear” that the city “might proceed so far down the pathway towards a decline that we might never recover—or at least not for a very, long time.”
After the Dem Party went through its “defund the cops” phase, San Francisco was among the cities that did so wholeheartedly. Naturally, it didn’t take long for them to start pleading for the financing of their police department to be restored owing to an increase in crime.
San Francisco is, of course, one of several California cities that turned ugly. Its Democratic leadership in the state’s largest California cities is typically a slave to the most radical trends, and as a result, it adopts policies that undermine the economy and increase crime while disguising them as acts of compassion and virtue signaling.
As a result, a significant number of Californians have moved to places like Texas. It doesn’t help that significant corporations are also leaving the state, displacing even more citizens. California Governor Gavin Newsom tried to blame it on Trump’s policies when pressed directly as to why this is happening, but this is obviously a falsehood.
Although the flight from California has been occurring for some time, it was the COVID-19 policies that really started the exodus. California is a state that is extremely tough to live in yet extremely simple to leave because of its out-of-control crime, expensive cost of living, and nonsensical leadership.
