Trump Announces His New Economic Plan

In his most recent campaign platform video, which was released on Wednesday, former President Donald Trump outlined his strategies for preventing Chinese businesses from acquiring vital elements of the American economy, or “the crown jewels.”

Trump emphasizes the numerous facets of the American economy that Chinese businesses have penetrated near the beginning of the video:

“The crown jewels of the American economy are being taken over by China, which has been investing trillions of dollars to do so. China is acquiring our technologies, food supply, agriculture, minerals, and other natural resources, as well as our ports and shipping terminals. China is even attempting to acquire the cornerstones of the American energy industry with the aid of corrupt influence-peddling groups like the Biden Crime Family because, quite frankly, Biden and the group do not even care about real energy; they just care about the nonsense energy—energy that does not even work and never will.”

The necessity to “enact severe new prohibitions on Chinese ownership of any important infrastructure throughout the U.S., including energy, technologies, telecommunications, agriculture, natural resources, medical supplies, and several other vital national assets” was highlighted by Trump.

The 45th president outlined a plan to forbid such businesses from acquiring vital infrastructure in the future and to compel them to sell “any current holdings that place our national security in danger.”

“China would be quite glad to own the United States,” according to Trump, “if we don’t take this action. Just as I did when I was president before, I will make sure that America’s destiny is firmly in American hands when I’m president.”

According to Breitbart News, Chinese firms have been purchasing American farmland at an alarming rate in recent years. One concerning purchase was made by the Fufeng Group last year, just a few miles from Grand Forks Air Force Base in North Dakota. According to Rep. Ralph Norman (R-SC), it is believed that China owns over 192,000 acres of agricultural land in the United States (R-SC).

Some American ports are even owned by Chinese firms, as Trump notes in the video. “Companies from China own or operate over 93 ports in 53 nations, including those in Seattle and Los Angeles,” Sam Olsen of The Hill reported last week.

Trump highlighted that “America should not allow China to take over our essential infrastructure because China does not allow American corporations to take over their critical infrastructure.”
