Trump Greenlights Bold Move Toward American Independence

President Donald Trump has once again shown strong leadership and common sense by approving the construction of the Ambler Road in Alaska. This 211-mile industrial road will open access to some of our nation’s most valuable mineral resources—copper, cobalt, zinc, and more. These minerals are not just important; they are essential to our national security, our technology, and our economy.

This project was first approved by President Trump during his first term. But as soon as Joe Biden took office, his administration stopped it. They claimed it was to protect a so-called “pristine area.” What they really did was block American progress and give more power to foreign nations like China. Now, under President Trump’s steady hand and renewed leadership, the road is finally moving forward again.

Let us be clear: the Ambler Road is not just a road. It is a path toward independence—energy independence, economic independence, and national strength. For too long, America has depended on foreign countries for the minerals we need to build our phones, our cars, and even our defense systems. Meanwhile, China has been hoarding control over these critical materials, controlling up to 100 percent of the mining and refining in some cases. That is unacceptable.

Interior Secretary Doug Burgum said it best: “We’ve got to get back in the mining business.” He is right. We cannot win the race for technology, especially the race for artificial intelligence, if we are begging China for the basic materials. Building the Ambler Road means we can mine right here at home, in our own land, with our own workers.

This project will not just help our nation as a whole—it will also bring real opportunity to the people of Alaska. Thousands of jobs will be created. Communities in rural Alaska will grow stronger. Roads like this connect people, bring goods and services, and build up towns that have long been left behind. This is what real leadership looks like—putting Americans first and lifting up every corner of our great land.

Of course, the usual voices of opposition have already begun to complain. Groups like the Sierra Club are crying out against the project, saying it will harm the environment and wildlife. These are the same kinds of people who want to shut down our oil fields, tear down our history, and push radical climate agendas that hurt American families.

They talk about caribou and trees, but they ignore the needs of real people. They want to stop development, even if it means leaving Americans jobless and our country weak. They don’t care that without these minerals, we are putting our future in the hands of the Chinese Communist Party.

President Trump listened to the people of Alaska, to the workers, to the experts, and to the patriots who want to see America strong again. He made the right call. He told the Bureau of Land Management, the National Park Service, and the Army Corps of Engineers to move forward and reissue the permits needed to build the road. No more delay. No more weakness.

The road will travel from the Dalton Highway to the Ambler Mining District, opening up more than 1,700 active mining claims. That’s real wealth, real jobs, and real power for the United States.

We need to stop thinking small and start building again. We need to remember that our land is not just something to be locked away—it is a gift from God, meant to be used wisely for the good of our people. President Trump understands this truth, and that is why he continues to fight for us.

In times like these, when foreign powers threaten our future and radical voices try to hold us back, we must stand with strong leaders who put America first. The approval of the Ambler Road is a step toward greatness. Let us walk that road with pride.
