In an exclusive interview with Breitbart News on Sirius XM, former President Donald Trump made fun of Democrats for saying he was tired while also pretending to be afraid that he would use the federal government as a tool if he was elected.
When Breitbart News Washington Bureau Chief Matthew Boyle asked Trump about how the government was being used against him, Trump made fun of him.
“First they tell you you’re tired, then they say I’m going to arm the government. I don’t think I’m too tired, right?” Trump also said that Democrats have set a bad example with lawfare, and he made fun of them.
“Just so you know, what they did was a very bad example. It has been done by banana states and other third-world countries,” he said.
“But what they did to me, what they did to the It’s what I call the Department of Injustice, along with the FBI and the Mar-a-Lago searches. It’s never happened here before.”
Months after Trump said he would run for president in November 2022, he was charged with four different crimes by state and federal agencies over the course of five months in 2023.
In April 2023, Manhattan District Attorney Alvin Bragg (D) filed a 34-count indictment saying Trump lied about business records. This was followed by two federal cases brought by Special Counsel Jack Smith: the documents case in June of 2023 and the case over the Trump campaign’s challenge to the 2020 election in July 2023.
Then, in August 2023, Trump was charged by Fulton County District Attorney Fani Willis (D). Also, Peter Navarro, a former Trump adviser, went to jail for contempt of Congress, and Steve Bannon, the current White House chief strategist and former executive chairman of Breitbart, is currently serving a sentence for the same crime.
Trump said that putting former White House officials in jail, like Navarro and Bannon, was once unthinkable in the United States. He also said that he would never use the government against political opponents.
