More than 5,000 excited Trump supporters went to the Arizona Federal Theater in Phoenix this Saturday afternoon to attend a “Protect Our Elections” rally showing former President Trump and numerous candidates looking to run for governor and senator.
These candidates came seeking Trump’s support. Supporters came to listen to Trump. The media came to attack and mock Trump supporters and hear Trump say that the 2020 election was filled with fraud.
Everyone who came got exactly what they desired.
The GOP-controlled Maricopa County government has opposed the investigation conducted by a company named Cyber Ninjas, whose founder has supported Trump’s claims of an election steal.
Trump repeatedly applauded the efforts of the Arizona audit, as he has done before in numerous press releases given from his private residence in Mar-a-Lago. “You have created a movement all over the nation,” Trump said.
The audit has split Arizona GOP members at a time when the incumbent Democratic, Senator Mark Kelly, is very vulnerable. Trump poured some gasoline on the issue when he slammed Governor Doug Ducey for his lowly support of Trump’s fraud claims.
“We are becoming a Communist country,” he said, targeting the news media over its coverage of Biden and his son Hunter. Arizona GOP Party Chair Kelli Ward was also mentioned by the former president.
“GOP Party Chairwoman — somebody with tremendous courage,” Trump said about Ward.
“She is really a fighter and she fights your governor who does not do a damn thing,” Trump said.
Trump then went for Ducey for not being “popular” at the rallies. Ward, who ran for Senate unsuccessfully two times, is running for the Senate again in 2022. Trump’s support would cause her to be a formidable primary candidate in what is shaping up to be a crowded field.
Trump reiterated many of the claims given by the auditors about the 2020 election in Maricopa County.
Among them was the statement that “74,000 mail-in ballots with no record of them being sent out,” he said. “No one knows where the hell they are.”
This comes at a time when election audits nationwide have discovered many cases of fraud.
