Migrants Could Be Headed To YOUR STATE Next

Chair of the House Natural Resources Committee (R-AR) Bruce Westerman stated the Biden administration needs to stop resettling migrants on land owned by the National Park Service.

During an oversight hearing this week, Westerman emphasized the Biden administration’s intention to build migrant camps on “a number of America’s most treasured landscapes.”

To Westerman’s disappointment, the Biden administration didn’t send an official to talk about the strategy as he had asked. He said, “Congress has a duty to keep an eye on things, and this committee won’t stand for Biden’s poor decisions destroying one of America’s greatest ideas.”

Westerman says that since the spring of 2022, more than 100,000 refugees have come to New York City. So many immigrants are coming to the city that Democratic Mayor Eric Adams recently said that the current immigration policies put in place by the Biden administration will “destroy the City.”

Even though the city wasn’t ready for all the people who came, its own rules made it an attractive place for people to move to. New York calls itself a “sanctuary city” and won’t help federal authorities find and deport illegal immigrants, even if they have a history of criminal charges.

Also, New York has a rule called “right to shelter” that says everyone, no matter what their legal situation is, has to be given a place to live and food, which is covered by the city.

The government decided to build homes in Floyd Bennett Field inside the NPS’s Gateway National Recreational Area because of the huge number of migrants. The city has leased land from the NPS so that the migrant camp can be built. This is where people from the area have long gone to escape to go fishing and kayak.

Westerman recently went on Breitbart News to talk about why he doesn’t agree with the administration’s plan and why officials can’t answer questions about how safe the buildings are. In that interview, he pushed for a House Republican spending bill to be passed so that more money could be spent on border security and the government would stay open.

The government is breaking environmental rules to speed up the building, which made members of the committee even angrier because it is something that is rarely done for Americans who are looking for housing.

The border problem doesn’t seem to be going away, and Westerman is worried about the harm that could happen if this policy is applied to more national parks across the country. People in the US were told that “President Biden’s disastrous border policies will be coming to a park close to you.”
