DeSantis To Debate Gavin Newsom–This Wont End Well For Democrats

Donald Trump does not appear to be attending the first GOP primary debate, but Ron DeSantis is now faced with a new debating challenge. The Florida governor officially agreed to an invitation for a debate with Gavin Newsom while speaking on Sean Hannity’s Fox News program.

DeSantis said, “Absolutely, I’m game, when questioned by Hannity about what his response was to Newsom’s offer.”

“Let’s finish it. Just let me know when and where we’re going to do it, DeSantis stated as the crowd cheered. In a certain sense, the debate between Florida and California has already taken place. As you suggested, individuals have been deciding on it by leaving California in historic numbers.

DeSantis stated, “Florida has been the top state for net in-migration. We have the best-ranked economy, the best-ranked school system, and the lowest crime rate in 50 years. However, in another way, this discussion is about the future of our nation because of individuals like Joe Biden, who are eager to see America become more Californian.”

For the past year or two, Newsom has been criticizing DeSantis, claiming that California is a state that tends to be more free-spirited for both inhabitants and companies. The evidence, which includes emigration data from California, contradicts that, and DeSantis will have the opportunity to personally defend Florida. If he arrives prepared, he will have plenty of stuff to work with.

DeSantis has previously rejected requests for a debate, so it’s unclear if engaging with Newsom is a wise move. However, given the need to promote his campaign, the GOP presidential contender is probably looking to demonstrate that he can take on the best Democrats have to offer and prevail. It’s a risk, but in the event, DeSantis performs well under pressure, it may be worthwhile.

It will undoubtedly be amusing whatever happens. Unless Newsom has been playing a bluff the entire time, that is.
