Months before the election, First Lady Jill Biden hosted a fundraiser in Ladue, Missouri, on Monday, drawing around 30 people as part of the Biden Victory Fund’s combined effort.
Biden made her case for her husband, 81-year-old President Joe Biden, by claiming that he “rescued” the United States from the coronavirus pandemic. She spoke to a “roomful of supporters” at the home of Democratic operative Joyce Aboussie.
“He made the schools available. “He gave us vaccinations,” she asserted, painting Trump’s second term in office in a negative light, or what the tabloid dubbed a “relapse into anarchy and a danger to democracy.”
“About thirty individuals showed up there,” said the St. Louis Post-Dispatch, “among them were Gephardt and former Build-A-Bear CEO Maxine Clark.”
Following Saturday night’s Trump mega-donor event in Palm Beach, Florida, comes the fundraiser in Missouri. By raising almost $50 million in only one night, Trump broke the record for most presidential campaigns’ single-fundraiser totals.
In a statement, senior strategists for the Trump campaign, Chris LaCivita and Susie Wiles, predicted that tonight will bring in $50.5 million for the Republican Party and President Trump. They went on to say that Trump is “winning poll after poll and confirming that the excitement is on his side.”
Their message, operation, and financial resources are more apparent than ever before, and they are confident in their ability to help President Trump win the election on November 5, they added.
While President Joe Biden raised $26 million at a glamorous affair at Radio City, Trump’s fundraiser raised more than double that amount. Joe Biden’s haul “took three presidents — Barack Obama, Bill Clinton, and God bless us all, the current President of the United States, as hard as it is to say, Joe Biden — to raise $26 million,” RNC Co-Chair Lara Trump said.
According to Breitbart News, Lara Trump said that March was the “biggest fundraising month for the RNC in history” before Saturday’s Palm Beach blockbuster.
“Our combined fundraising group, the Trump 47 Group, is holding its inaugural major event. The Republican National Organization and the campaign have formed this fundraising organization. So far, we have $40 million in the bank for just that one event. When asked about the RNC’s newfound status as a “connected entity” with the campaign, she proudly announced that they had raised $65.6 million in March alone as of yesterday.”
